Tuesday Must-Haves for the Bride!

Lace is a timeless fabric. It represents the classic ideals of a woman—feminine, soft, and romantic. It also happens to be my favorite type of material. And out of it comes the ideal bridal concoction: lace + sweetheart necklace = the perfect, dream wedding dress.

The bride below looks absolutely breathtaking. The dress is so simple and sweet. She eludes natural beauty at its finest and is wearing the perfect choice of jewelry. She could’ve added a splash of color here and there, but her decision to stick with a more traditional style works perfectly here.

Sometimes, the simple pieces can make the biggest entrance, especially if it’s your big day. Instead of having jewelry overpower your beauty, ensure that the earrings and bracelets supplement your overall glam. I would recommend the shimmering crystal drop earrings for an updo. Because of her narrow face and V-neckline, pear shaped earrings work the best to bring out her beautiful figure. If you want to add a little sparkle to your look, I would choose the vintage silver lace stretch bracelet in lieu of the pearls. Its filigree motif still gives you a vintage, yet kind and gentle aura.

If there is ever a season filled with love and romance it has to be summer! The classic song, Summer Lovin’, from Grease is the perfect reminder of that! Whether you are young and in love or traveling on exotic vacations with a steady partner, there is something about summer that seems so carefree, you end up caring more about each other. We also see a spike of weddings through the sunny summer months. Brighter flowers, lighter dresses, warmer weather, and the chance to get away on a romantic honeymoon make the months of April through August (June being the most popular) the perfect chance to tie the knot!

After all the fuss of the Royal Wedding back in April, I am sure a fair share of us have been to a wedding or two this summer. But the next large-scale, celebrity wedding is coming up featuring pop-culture royalty, and guess what— you’re all invited!

Kim Kardashian will be married to basketball player Kris Humphries this upcoming Saturday, August 20^th and you can get a glimpse of this sure to be spectacular wedding just one month later! Television channel E! is producing a fairytale wedding special that will truly give you the whole wedding experience. However, with the way gossip spreads in Hollywood, there have been a few details that have leaked that are getting us even more excited for Kim’s big day!

If you are as big of a fan of the Kardashians as I am, you probably already know that the designer of Kim’s bridal gown is none other than Vera Wang. Sisters Kourtney, Khloe, and probably Kendall and Kylie Jenner will be wearing Vera Wang as well, and their dresses are green! We have seen plenty of green on the red carpets so far in 2011, especially emerald tones and we think this is a smashing color choice!

What to Wear to a Summer Wedding

I don’t know about you, but I have a slew of weddings to attend in the upcoming days—and months, which has made me think a lot about what to wear. It seems like an easy task—just slip on a dress, put on some jewelry, grab a matching clutch and voila!–but I think we can all agree that it’s not such an easy task. You want to look nice and impress, but not SO swoon-worthy that you outshine the bride or bridesmaids. Here’s a list of the do’s and don’ts to avoid making any regretful choices.

Don’ts:

If the wedding is outdoors on the grass or beach, skip the sky high heels and opt for platforms or pretty flats and you won’t make a track of holes.
Avoid attention-grabbing textures: shiny satin, wowing sparkles and glitter, garish colors that make you pop out from a crowd like neon green
Avoid gowns that are floor-length (unless the wedding is held at an extra-fancy venue).
Hold off on jewelry layering and the bling-bling that makes people do a double take.

Let’s face it, what we carry in our purse says a lot about who we are. And it can reveal a lot about ourselves–our likes, needs, and yes, even our personality. I find it quite fascinating and quite amusing!

I just did a quick bag transfer just this morning, which left me with my EOS Summer Lip Balm (which I absolutely love), my trusty Moleskin calendar, Lesportsac makeup bag and a set of keys. What I pack in my bag of course depends on where I go, but I’d say I’m mostly practical, though I do love having sweets and a camera handy. I asked my lovely co-worker, Kit, what she had in her bag (see above). Kit’s style is a mix between Party Girl and Planner Girl and you’ll always find a magazine and camera in her tote . So what’s in your bag?

The Everything Girl: You always carry a large bag and your whole life is in it–makeup, first-aid kit, sewing kit, Advil, snacks, extra pair of earrings and hair tie, Kleenex, notebook, pen, and everything else you can think of. You’re the nurturing type and always prepared no matter what.

Sporty Girl: You just need your basics and you’re good to go–phone, keys, wallet, lip balm.

Beauty Girl: You always have all your makeup needs in your bag just in case you need a bit of touch up here and there because you never know where you’ll be or who you’ll meet.

Fun Girl: The contents of your bag might be a bit disorganized but you have everything you need to keep you entertained–your camera, iPod, candy, chocolate, magazine.

Planner Girl: Everything in your bag is neat and organized–you have your schedule book, notebook, pen and everything you need to make sure that your life is in control.
