A couple of months ago, a close friend of mine asked me to be her maid of honor and I gladly accepted, though I knew I’d have a big task ahead of me. As an excited nuptial newbie, I didn’t waste any time and started doing some research with the bridal party. Who knew this part could be so much fun? As I was flipping through different bridal magazines and browsing through different wedding websites, I found a long list of impressive ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. Knot.com was one of the sites I landed on, which showcased a wedding with bridesmaids holding fans during the hot summer season! The bride here decided to ditch the flower bouquets for something less expensive but still stylish, and I thought it was genius.
Many of you are either married or single and on the lookout and may not be a bride this summer, but you can use these tips to help someone you know spark some good ideas:) Fans can be a tad dull in color, but you can play it up by embellishing them or—my favorite way—by adding colorful pops of jewelry to your fingers and wrists! (See below). For bright flower bouquets that already make a big statement, instead of playing up the fingers and wrists, try accessorizing the neck and ears to balance the whole look.
