If there were two words to sum up 1928 Jewelry, the obvious choices would be “fashion” and “vintage.” So when I heard that fashion guru/actress Katie Holmes was playing the fabulous and iconic Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming TV series, The Kennedy’s, I was ecstatic to see her sport some amazing vintage styles. No look being complete without her bobbed hair and strand of pearls, Jackie Kennedy has been the inspiration for many vintage-loving women. Her style was effortless and simple, yet it evoked such a strong persona.
And what a great choice to have one style icon play another! Holmes co-founded a fashion line back in 2008 with celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang that focuses on classic, simple basics for women of any age. The tailored collection seems like something we would see on Jackie O today. The LA Times blog recently informed readers about how Jackie O.’s faux pearls is going up for auction at the Goodwood Vintage Festival, which will be held in London in August 15. (Wish I could be there!) At the “Pioneers of Popular Culture” sale, there will be pieces from the late First Lady’s collection including a triple-strand faux pearl necklace worn by Jackie Kennedy while she was living at the White House and on a state visit to Colombia. It’s a piece similar to ours, as seen below!
For a modern twist on a true vintage look that we know we will see a lot of in the History channel series, The Kennedy’s (coming in 2011), try 1928’s Pretty in Pearls Metallic Crème Multi-Strand Necklace. The triple strand pearl necklace adds vintage glam to just about every outfit.

I am a big fan of pearls especially the vintage ones…my mom does not want me to buy for myself but someone should give it to me…It a little tradition you know…
But I would love to have those pieces…
Great post!
Take care dear
