This year, fall fashion runs the gamut in colors and themes as seen in New York Fashion Week—which only means you have more wardrobe choices!
On the runway, Alice & Olivia decides to go young and chic. I love the mini boater hat pinned to her curly, braided and side-swept locks with a simple chain pendant necklace and bracelet.
Ralph Lauren this season chooses a bohemian style, an unexpected break from his usual solid color designs. Along with the floral blouse, the model wears an extra-long beaded necklace with pops of red, along with a beanie and a small fringe bag.
Marc Jacobs keeps the hide-and-seek ruffled gray dress simple with a skinny belt cinched at the waist and no further accessories.
Michael Kors goes camel crazy this season. The pictured model has a free-spirited glam look with gold stacked bangles, camel suede boots and bedhead hair.
Peacock Feather Brooch Pin
Though the season’s runway was a mix, there were a lot of neutrals, camel tones, amber and military greens—very fall appropriate. Our new fall jewelry collection, which debuted in New York Market back in May, takes those trends and gives them a glamorous vintage twist with peacock colors. It sways more into the Bohemian style, especially the peacock pin above, which is a must-have for me this season! I asked our 2028 jewelry designer, Sheva, about the collection. She wanted to play with a colorful fall scheme and mix it with a youthful edge by adding lots of key charms. The necklace below features a rose key, a mini Eiffel Tower, a vintage puffer perfume bottle and a multi-chain tassel, all dangling from a round star pendant. They’re all (and much more) expected to be in our online store in September…Be on the lookout!
Oh my Godfather – Gwennie’s on the cover of the April InStyle and 1928 is inside! To die!
I LOVE! Annnnnnnd – the Queen of Vintage has a spread – that’s right Rachel “I dream in Jewelry” (who doesn’t?!) Zoe has a fab four pages. I am sighing and drooling as I write. The most amazing thing – you can hop on www.1928.com and STEAL so many look-a-likes from this very article!
Let’s see – there’s the long pearl/Trinity gold cross looking pendant she’s wearing on pg. 138, 1928’s version would be the Antique Black Bow-Tie Necklace, or her diamond and pearl flower ring – the 1928 Antique Pearl and Crystal Flower Stud Earrings are PERFECT and all you crafty types could just pop over to Michael’s and make a ring for yourself and one of your friends in no time! Viola!

Now, thumb through to pg. 317 to the “tipsntrends.com” page – middle right – yes dear friends – those two rings are 2028, an exclusive collection available only at Macy’s! Now, being the arachnophobe I am – I would never DREAM of wearing bugs on my fingers, howevs I simply die for this superfly Dragonfly! And the locket ring reminds me of my beloved Nana Banana’s locket that she wore crossing the ocean from Wales to this country as a child. Is it not GORGE?! I’m running (in my pink Reebok Easytones!) to my local Macy’s. And never fear ring lovers – if it’s not in stock yet, be patient. You know how these pubs work. They release weeks in advance – keep running back, it will be there soon and you will be so pleased that you persevered!
1928 Jewelry creates 2028 Jewelry for Macy’s Department Stores. We went behind the scenes and talked to Kim Lamse, the 2028 Jewelry designer & brand manager. We discussed what inspires her pieces. Her answer: Everyday Beauty.
It’s here, it’s here, it’s here! We’ve waited – impatiently – and our favorite collections has arrived. Spring Beauty Collection features the first in a series of vibrant statement necklaces being offered in the 2028 Line. The necklace features rose gold tone metal and salmon, magenta and fuchsia faceted beads strung together in a bib shape. There is a beautiful, tiny little hand enameled butterfly in the corner also.
Best of all, the necklace is only $55.00! How is that for thrifty, fabulous recessionista find?
