Fab Find Friday: Vanessa Hudgens Does Boho Best!

No matter the season, no matter the weather- if there is one style that never seems to go out of style its boho chic! Sure it has seen its more popular seasons and trending pieces have had their moment in the spotlight, but taking on a laid-back, casual yet refined bohemian look will never lead you astray. Think of it as being perfectly undone; effortlessly styled; predictable yet unexpected; retro and fashion forward all at the same time- boho chic is one big contradiction and that is what makes it last from season to season.

It should come as no surprise that boho-chic’s reigning queen is Nicole Richie. From the moment she first came into her reality TV spotlight to now having a clothing line and accessories collection of her own, her style has retained its effortlessly chic spirit that so many of us have coveted and copied. If anyone is proof that you can still be totally trendy with a look that has been around for years, it’s Ms. Richie.

And while Nicole may be the boho-queen, the princess and strong competitor for best bohemian look is definitely Vanessa Hudgens! Graduating from her sweet Disney star persona, this young Hollywood hipster constantly rocks a look that sits somewhere between edgy and relaxed. And while her outfit may not always make our best dressed list (although a good 80% of the time it does), she sure does stick to her own personal style, unaffected by high-end labels and must-have seasonal trends. Vanessa is a bold, daring and fearless fashionista with a strong bohemian spirit.

Even with her unexpected short hair cut (which we love!) Vanessa still manages to channel her inner flower-child spirit in this maxi dress from T-bags that she wore to the premiere of Iris, the new Cirque du Soleil show in Hollywood. The scalloped print is a nice way to switch it up from an animal print while still staying funky. And to accentuate the plunging neckline on the dress, Vanessa wore a large round medallion pendant which we think is quite chic in the silver!

You can rock Hudgens’ style with our Ariel’s Treasure Turquoise Drop Round Locket that has the same length and pendant size as the necklace she is wearing. The unique pocket watch style opening to the locket almost gives it a retro vibe, so for all of you bohemian queens, this can be your perfect accessory to jump into the world of retro which will be big this upcoming season. Fab Find Friday: Anne and Alexander McQueen

Red Carpet events come in all different “shapes and sizes”; there are some, like the Oscars, that are ultra glamorous black tie affairs, and then there are events like the Grammy’s that are more about personal style and who can be the most unique. We also see red carpets at venue openings, charity events, photo calls and of course, movie premieres and the unofficial dress code for each of them is different.

With so many press moments, celebrities are expected to not only meet the dress code but also to represent their own personal style. Celebs are lucky to have stylists to help them achieve that picture perfect look for the many, many cameras that are lined up and down the red carpet. Fashion designers will also send fresh off the runway looks to celebrities and their stylists to promote their label and their look. And every so often there is that magic moment when the right celebrity with the right personal style fits into a designer’s look just perfectly. Anne Hathaway just had one of those moments.

AHFab Find Friday: Anne and Alexander McQueenAt the London premiere of her newest flick One Day, fashionista Anne Hathaway wore a head to toe outfit from the Alexander McQueen resort collection. With the help of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, Anne looked flawless in her capped sleeve off-white lace dress that had fabulous little feminine details such as the flared ankle length, sculpted neckline and curve hugging silhouette. Complete with McQueen pumps and signature McQueen skull clutch, Anne was a vision! Her look was so chic and so appropriate considering it was in London and she was wearing a British designer. Not to mention, the combination of white, the cut of the dress, her brown oxford-like heels, her luxurious stacked bracelets- EVERYTHING!- worked together to create a lovely transitional look from summer to fall.

And speaking of those bracelets, we think they were the perfect jewelry addition to Anne’s look! Since the dress speaks volumes for itself, there was no need to throw on a necklace or even earrings, but the stacked bracelets added the jewels we were looking for. She wore a bracelet for each color in her outfit- crème, brown and gold! And we have the perfect fab finds to re-create the same look that will be a hit this fall! Our Chérie beaded bracelets offer a lux combo of pearly beads and twinkling crystals. And you can add a bit of texture and shape to your wrist with the Antiqued Celestial Stretch Filigree Bracelet (also available in silver). Add these three bracelets, or something like them to a neutral, tailored suit or throw them on with a bright bohemian dress and you’ve got a very stylish effect.

Fab Find Friday: The Summer Style of Emma Stone

I always admire a celebrity who surprises me when it comes to their fashion choices. Not in the same out-of-this-world way as Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj, but celebrities who always pull something subtle yet show-stopping out of their bag of tricks. If a celebrity can manage to look like a different person entirely with a unique style every time they hit the red carpet I think they deserve credit in the fashion world. And one rising starlet who is doing just that is Emma Stone.

Emma's stunning red carpet style! From left to right: At the Critic's Choice Awards in Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere, looking absolutely angelic in a light blue number by Preen, having a high-fashion moment at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Chanel Haute Couture, and back to her red tresses in a Bottega Veneta dress!

The young actress who has been landing role after role in everything from romantic comedies to the highly anticipated film adaptation of the book The Help (coming out next month!), has shown her true colors as a red head and a blonde- her natural hair color, believe it or not! Whoever her stylist is deserves major recognition for the work she has been doing with Emma in 2011 dressing her perfectly for every event- from working with her current hair color, finding just the right shoes, how she styles her hair down to her clutch and lip color. In other words she rarely disappoints.

This summer alone, Emma Stone has been featured on the covers of Glamour Magazine (May issue), Elle (July issue), and Vanity Fair’s August issue promoting her new movies Friends with Benefits and Crazy, Stupid Love. Apart from moments in the editorial spotlight, all in one week, Ms. Stone managed to pull off two very different and very chic looks for the premieres of her two newest flicks. Back to her signature red ‘do that she had when she started gaining her celebrity, Emma rocked the red hair on the red carpet and looked so stunning we just HAD to get some Fab Finds together for you to get her fashion-forward style!

First came the Friends with Benefits premiere where Emma stole the show in a unique and bright Giambattista Valli pink and red color block dress that she paired with nude Christian Louboutins. Most of us would shy away from that color combination but we think Emma makes it look hot! If you do dare to pull off a color combo like this, follow Emma’s lead and style it simple. Get a metallic gold cocktail ring like our Fluttery Gold and Pink Cocktail Ring and that’s all you need!

Later in the week, Stone attended the premiere of a movie she has a much larger role in- Crazy, Stupid Love. For this red carpet, the leading lady went a bit more glamorous in a structured black lace dress from Tom Ford’s fall collection. Paired with a crimson lip and her hair in a loose, vintage inspired wave, we think Emma looked like a dream from head to toe! Her hair styling really does wonders for that dress and shows off her vintage-esque earrings! The subtle sparkle and simple silhouette remind us of a few different pairs of 1928 earrings. After all, isn’t vintage glamour what we do best?

Fab Find Friday: Pretty in Blue

While red may have been the “it” color of the spring, it looks like electric blue is taking over for the summer! Celebrities have been gracing all kinds of red carpets and events in the vivid color. Cobalt blue is a flattering jewel tone that looks good with every skin tone and isn’t too bright to draw attention to any “trouble areas” that we all have. It’s sleek, modern and very, very summery!

And recently Christie Brinkley, the famous CoverGirl of the 80’s, tried on some bright blue and looked amazing! At 57 (believe it or not!!!), Brinkley also showed that this color is not suited for any particular age group- it works for us all! Apart from how terrific she looks for her age, the former supermodel accessorized her Zuhair Murad gown with some seriously sparkly Chopard jewels, giving her a modern, youthful look from head to toe. Overall, her look was just fun!

But what caught my eye was her necklace! Now, I have always been a sucker for a layered statement necklace, but seeing one done by Chopard, one of the leading fine jewelry designers of our time, is just breathtaking! For the same silhouette minus the diamonds (obviously), check out 1928’s new Delia’s Silver Daisy Crochet Bib Necklace. The intricate crocheted beading on this necklace creates a malleable style that lays beautifully on your neckline. So go shopping for some electric blue, get yourself this silver statement necklace and you can have a red carpet trend in an outfit as casual or dressy as you’d like! Here are some of my fab find inspired outfits I will be putting together for the summer. Share yours with us too! And have a fabulous Friday!

Fab Find Friday: Green is a Go!

Award season may be over but the Cannes Film Festival has served up some seriously gorgeous red carpet looks this week! As one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals, the event in Cannes brings out the cream of the crop of A-list celebrities! And in an atmosphere like the south of France, how could you not expect glamour around every corner at all of the different photo calls, premieres and galas.

Cannes Film Festival 300x225Fab Find Friday: Green is a Go!

And there’s one hot trend straight from Cannes that has truly caught my eye! Whether evening gown or summer dress, celebrities have been accenting their looks with bright green jewelry. A big color this spring, green sits right on that fine line between fun and elegant and adds the perfect pop of color to any outfit. Its tropical, playful and looks good on every skin tone. Two of my favorite stars to pull off green accents in Cannes were Angelina Jolie and Uma Thurman, both of whom wore their emerald baubles with white or cream, giving those green gems a chance to truly shine!

Angelina Jolie attended a photo call on Wednesday wearing a belted Salvatore Ferragamo dress that gave her a perfectly fresh look! Jolie kept her outfit mostly monochromatic except for her sparkling emerald bracelet and ring. Her jewels are from her own Style of Jolie jewelry collection, which is comprised of the finest collection of diamonds and emeralds, letting us know they cost a pretty penny. Emerald green has almost become Angelina’s signature color and we love her look! Another great look from Cannes that also included some green jewelry was Uma Thurman at the festival’s ever so fancy opening ceremony. Thurman looked stunning in a white feathered Versace gown and some major emerald green chandelier earrings. We’ve got a similar pair from the same collection as the bracelet above! Check out our Ocean Goddess Green and Blue Chandelier Earrings and the rest of the Malibu Collection for fabulous finds in this trending color palette of aqua and emerald.
