Giving Way To Deco & Diamonds

Pearls are popping up on everything from heels and bags to cardigan sweaters, so the sky’s the limit on how to reinvent this classic accoutrement. The simplest way to freshen up a strand of pearls is to layer it with several long chain necklaces—or even a diamond necklace for a burst of bling. With the gems over at 1928 Jewelry all is possible! The insanely chic goddess at the accessory mecca would give Coco Chanel a run for her money with all the baubles they have on stock! – La Petite Blog

Weardrobe.com, Anthropologie, 1928 Jewelry & Vintage Style

Jen & I stumbled across an amazing site a few weeks ago, Weardrobe.com. Instantly, we fell in love; this is where the ultra hip, unbelievably creative fashionistas come to play. Future international stylists, please stand up!

Weardrobe members upload photos of their outfits – more like creations – and share them with other community members. They name the accessories, who made it, where they got it and why they “rocked” the outfit the way they did. So this week, after fashion week and as we transition to spring, we’ve partnered with Weardrobe.com to bring you spring goodies. Between: 3/10 and 3/15 you can win a $50 Anthropologie gift card and $100 gift certificate to 1928.com.

To Enter: Visit the WEARDROBE.com, become a member, upload your most creative ACCESSORIES ensemble. The amazing folks at Weardrobe will select their favorite entry and presto! $150 bucks in virtual money to further your spring wardrobe.

Win Vintage-Inspired Amethyst 2028 Bracelets At BoutiqueFlair.com

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, we know that means. Candy, flower and stuffed bears. But what about Jewelry. I was talking to my friends at Boutique Flair about this very topic. It’s seems our SOs are falling out of the habit of giving us jewelry and things that last more than five days (if the candy lives that long). So we put our beautiful heads together and came up with something sweet – winning the Spring Brite bangles from the Macy’s 2028 Collection. The set is made of Amethyst stones set in rose gold-tone metal. They can be worn by themselves or together. The rules – Simple.

1. Visit 1928.com and pick TWO of your most favorite 1928/2028/Antiquities pieces.

2. Then visit Boutique Flair’s Swag Page and list or link your two favorites.

That’s it! One winner will be chosen at random to recieve these vintage beauties. Ladies – your men can also enter, and they can give it to you. One entry per email address – sorry, gotta follow the rules.

Good luck! Whoever wins, send me a photo of how you wear them.

Daily Candy Sweetest Things 2008

Jen & I  have been enjoying our holidays. We have actually managed to organize an clean our Delicious bookmarks. The Jewelry Gal blog content for 2008 is going to tickle you silly – yea, that’s what we said, tickle you silly. It’s gonna feel so good! Anyway, if you independent fashion divas don’t know about Daily Candy, then there’s something seriously wrong with your Google Reader! Daily Candy covers most major cities these days (we remember when they were LA centric – back in the day) and subscribing to their newsletters keeps you up on what’s hip now.

Last week, Daily Candy opened up voting for The Sweetest Things 2008. Ladies – and trendy gents – it’s time to vote. Show your support for you most favorite boutiques, eateries and stylish home finds in your city.

What Are You Tired Of?

Not everything is light-hearted and beautiful in life, sometimes I think people forget that there are tens of thousands of people facing issues of abuse issues every day.  For me, child abuse is an issue that too many sweep under the rug, because people are afraid to speak up or get involved. Well speaking up or at least bringing suspected abuse to the attention of someone who’s in a position to help can save the life of a child. In an effort to bring awareness to some the biggest issues in the US today, the “I’m Tired” campaign was launched.

So what can you do?

While we all don’t have time in our lives to volunteer, we can always get involved.

The “I’m Tired of” bracelet concept was sparked by the success of Lance Armstrong’s effort to raise money for cancer with a simple silicone bracelet. When they set their criteria, they decided that, like Armstrong’s, first and foremost, it had to be inexpensive so everyone could afford it.

These eco friendly and fashionable bracelets have quickly become a celebrity favorite. Jenny McCarthy, Lance Bass, Shannon Elizabeth, Willa Holland, Kim Kardashian, and Christina Milian are all fans of the bracelets.

What are you tired of? Cancer, Global Warming, AIDS, Animal Cruelty, Diabetes, Heart Disease, World Hunger, Alzheimer’s, Autism, Child Abuse and more bracelets are available at www.imtiredonline.com

For every $10 bracelet sold, they donate $5 (that’s half) to important causes. You pick the cause and your bracelet and the donation will automatically be made on your behalf.

So what are you going to actively say you are TIRED of?
